- Description:
- The Government of Albania (GoA) is currentlytaking pro-active steps toward EU accession by putting efforts in almost allopened negotiation chapters including those related to logistics and transportoperations by aligning national practices with international standards and theEuropean Union-s regulatory framework. The project will assist the Ministry of Infrastructureand Energy of Albania (further referred to as the Ministry) with thedevelopment and promotion of legal and regulatory changes that align thecountry-s road transport framework with EU requirements. More specifically, the project supportunder this assignment will entail work on transposing five EU legal actsrelated to road transport into Albania-s legislation framework, and include thefollowing activities: (i) conduct a comprehensive review of nationallegislation in the areas covered by the selected EU legal acts in order to identifythe existing legal gaps; (ii) undertake the legal drafting of relevant piecesof national legislation in view of transposing the selected EU acts; and (iii) providetechnical support and presentations for stakeholder consultation workshops incollaboration with the Ministry. The GoA timeline for completing the legal processand initiating formal adoption of the new legislation is set for the end of Q32026.
